The Radon Flux Survey was completed on the Calyx Bench mineralized region within the Temple Mountain structural uplift during April, 2019. The Temple Mountain structure that rises above the San Rafael Swell contains vanadium-uranium mineralization in the basal sandstone units of the Triassic Chinle Formation.
Mineral Claims enriched with vanadium and uranium were staked in early 1898 and mined intermittently into the 1920s. Some of the vanadium-uranium mines operated almost continuously since 1948. The district was a major uranium producer on the Colorado Plateau during the late 1940s and early 1950s.
